Edges
Steel strips can be supplied with a variety of edge finishes to meet customer needs; the finishes we can produce are those exemplified below.
The choice of edge type depends on the intended use or application of the tapes; however, the possibility of producing certain finishes also depends on the material specification, dimensions, and required tolerances.

Rolling edge
Untreated edge; generally with an uneven contour. This type of edge typically does not allow for the establishment of precise dimensional tolerances.

Sheared edge
Edge with shearing burr. This type results from shearing the strip with circular blades (slitting): two of the four edges always have the processing burr highlighted in the figure.Burred edge
Sheared edge from which the shear burr has been removed by subsequent processing.Rounded edge
Completely rounded edge. This can typically be achieved on strips with a thickness between 0.15 and 1.50 mm and a width (generally speaking) between 2.00 and 250 mm; the actual widths for which rounded edges can be achieved also depend on the type and thickness of the strip. For more information, contact us now!
